Biden expels Russian diplomats in retaliation for election hacking
President Joe Biden hit the golf course in Wilmington, Delaware, for the first time since taking office. The White House confirmed that the president was golfing with Ron Olivere, father-in-law of the late Beau Biden, and advisor Steve Ricchetti.
This comes as a woman from Miami, Florida, has been charged for threatening to kill Vice President Kamala Harris, according to the Secret Service. The woman allegedly sent several videos and pictures to her incarcerated husband that detailed her intentions to kill the vice president.
In other news, China hit back at the United States’s apparent show of alliance with Japan during talks between Joe Biden and Japan’s PM Yoshihide Suga, calling it an “ironic attempt of stoking division”.
During the talks, Mr Biden and Mr Suga aired concerns about China’s activities in the Indo-Pacific region, saying it went “far beyond the scope of normal development of bilateral relations”.
The White House also announced that Mr Biden plans to lift his predecessor Donald Trump’s historically low cap on refugees next month.
First Lady to travel to New Mexico and Arizona next week
The White House has announced that First Lady Jill Biden will travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday, 21 April.
Then on Thursday and Friday, the first lady will visit the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, Arizona.
No further details have been released at this time about what the trip will entail.
This comes after Dr Biden, 69, went to the doctor for a “common medical procedure” on Wednesday morning, according to the White House. President Joe Biden accompanied the first lady on the visit, which lasted about one hour at a downtown DC office building.
“The First Lady tolerated the procedure well and is headed back to the White House to resume her normal schedule,” spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander said in a statement.
No other details were released about the procedure.

President Joe Biden has hit the golf course at Wilminton Country Club in Delaware on Saturday afternoon for the first time since taking office.
The White House confirmed Mr Biden was on the course with golf partners Ron Olivere, father-in-law of the late Beau Biden, and advisor Steve Ricchetti.

Biden arrives to golf course for first time
President Joe Biden’s motorcade Wilmington Country Club in Delaware on Saturday afternoon.
The country club was known for its golf course, and Mr Biden has often played golf throughout his lifetime. But the president has not been on a golf course since taking office in January.
The White House did not notify the press pool about where the motorcade was going when it first left Mr Biden’s residence on Saturday.
Reporters have asked the White House for more details about who Mr Biden was meeting at the country club and if he intended to golf.
